James Simon Chacha holds an MSc in Food Quality and Safety Assurance from Sokoine University of Agriculture, Tanzania. He is currently a Research Assistant and Doctoral Candidate at Humboldt University of Berlin, Germany in the Division Urban Plants Ecophysiology.
His research focuses on food quality aspects of African indigenous vegetables, particularly the impact of low-cost production and nutrient-sensitive post-harvest processing techniques on secondary plant metabolites. His work aligns strongly with TAFST’s priorities in research, innovation, nutrition, and sustainable food systems.
